In response...

to the comments I've been reading after the article in the Bellingham Herald: We knew very well the consequences of building our skateboarding spot on land which we did not own.   For this reason, we feared demolition and kept the project very small for the first few years. It was a DUMP on logging land zoned forestry. We only had the best intentions and were trying to clean up and make use of the spot by turning an unsightly trash heap into something we need. Glacier is a secluded mountain town, there is a real need for this project. We were always aware of the fact that we could get shut down. We are only hoping for the best, we didn't mean to disrespect property rights...

  2. I build mountain bike trails, so I relate to taking throwaway logging land, and pouring time, labor, creativity and cash into making something for people to get rad on. I love riding my bike out at Glacier, and hanging out at the park in between runs. It is awesome to see how far it has come along in the last couple years.
I am involved with Whatcom Trails Co-op, a group dedicated to building progressive bike trails in Whatcom. We have mostly been involved off Mosquito Lake and at Galbraith, but would like to help you guys out if we can. I understand that alot of the DH bike trails and BMX trails are threatened, too. We are a non-profit, and could help you out with the paperwork and tax stuff to get you non-profit status.
